Philippines 2014

December 20th - 27th 2014

Alona Beach, Bohol & Moalboal, Cebu.

My first visit to the Philippines
Bohol & Moalboal.

David and I wanted to go far far away for a well-deserved holiday.

Of course our holiday had to involve Scuba Diving as we have worked so hard in doing many courses and becoming Master Scuba Divers and then I continued on to become a PADI DiveMaster.

We definitely prefer Warm Water Diving so we decided on a holiday in the Philippines.

We started on Bohol Island and had 3 wonderful days of diving here. It didn’t start off this well. When we arrived we went to the dive centre we had booked with to introduce ourselves, the boss had gone away on holiday and failed to tell his staff we were booked in. I was very unhappy with the service we were getting from the lady we were chatting with, so we left and walked back towards our hotel. As we rounded the corner we saw another dive centre which was open and busy. Go Scuba are the sort of company we were expecting from a dive centre, Chatty, friendly and helpfull. They talked with us about what we wanted and told us what to expect while diving with them so our decision was made right there and we booked in for our 3 days of diving with them.

After the third day we moved on and caught the ferry over to Cebu Island where we were booked to dive in Moalboal.

The rest of our diving took place with 2 or 3 dives a day with Cebu Dive Centre, we couldn’t ask for a better bunch of people to spend time with. Our water tempertures were never under 28ºC and it was only the end of our trip that the heavy rains fell, but by this time our kit was all dry and packed ready for the journey home.

Sit back and browse through the photos, I know for some people this is as close as you will get to interact with the wonderful life under the sea. Some of the photos taken are not my best but unfortunately with some fish I only manmaged to get 1 shot, but I wanted people to be able to see different kinds of fish I saw. Until I learn to talk fish I have no means of telling the fish to stop moving and pose for me.
